How Money for Regional Development Was Spent

The sustainable development of the Republic of Moldova also implies the harmonious development of all regions. To achieve this objective, the institutional framework for regional development was created, with the NFRD as the main source of financing. Nevertheless, about half of the projects implemented with NFRD funding were local rather than regional in scope. Thus, the purpose of this Fund was not fully observed.
