How is external financing spent?

If the previous infographic showed who the largest donors are for investment projects in the public sector of the Republic of Moldova, this infographic is meant to show what this money was spent on and how financing evolved over the last 4 years. Between 2009 and 2012, the Republic of Moldova received external financing for investment projects of about MDL 5.4 billion. At the same time, around 35% of capital expenditure was financed from external sources. Five sectors of our economy benefited from about 75% of all financing from external sources: The largest share of external assistance was allocated to investment projects in agriculture, or about 24% of total financing in these years. Around MDL 961 million was spent on transport and road management, or about 18% of total financing. Less than 1% of external financing was spent on investment projects in justice, education, culture, maintaining public order, social assistance and replenishing state reserves.
