Update: As a result of the increasing number of COVID-19 infection cases and the new restrictions introduced by the authorities, the "2021 Annual Forum on Participatory Budgeting" will take place exclusively online.
The Independent Think-Tank ”Expert-Grup”, in partnership with the Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE), Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and the Eastern European Studies Centre (EESC) from Vilnius, Lithuania, organizes the 2021 Annual Forum on Budgetary Participation, which is the main public event of the Project “Inform, Empower and Act! The event will take place online, via Zoom.us Platform, on October 8, between 9:00 (AM) and 1:00 (PM) (EEST).
This edition of the forum will discuss the challenges related to ensuring budgetary participation at the local level, especially during the pandemics, and will discuss practical approaches and ideas for overcoming them and increasing the intensity and quality of civic engagement in the budgetary process at the local level.
In this regard, there will be presented an innovative online platform that can facilitate budgetary participation via online tools. The second panel of the event will be dedicated to a specific case where budgetary participation can help the LPAs explore in an effective way an innovative financial instrument for financing local capital investments – local government bonds.
The working language is Romanian, but simultaneous interpretation into the English and Russian will be provided during the event.
