International Conference ”MACRO 2014: A global view on Moldova’s economy”

In the context of signing the Association Agreement with the EU, at MACRO 2014 we intend to discuss the means that could make the European Integration process work for citizens. The conference will bring into discussion the key opportunities and challenges of the Association Agreement with EU on different categories of population: employees, employers, farmers, youth, civil society, the poor etc. At the same time, we will present the main findings of the State of Country Report 2014, which will provide intellectual stirring and analytical support for the discussions. 

The event will be attended by political leaders, policy makers, representatives of local governments and the private sector, local and foreign experts, representatives of CSOs and academia in Moldova.

The conference will be structured in three panels:

1. The key social and economic implications of the Association Agreement with the EU
2. Political economy of reforms: how to make long-term strategies work?
3. The pension system of the Republic of Moldova: who will pay the bills for the lack of reforms?
