MACRO Annual International Conference: ”Moldovan economy amid electoral cycles”, twelfth edition

MACRO stands for Moldova: Assessing Country Risks and Opportunities”. The conference has been conceived as an annual event bringing together domestic and international policy experts and thinkers with the key purpose of discussing and advancing innovative ideas to support Moldova along its way of and social economic development and modernization.  

The MACRO 2024 edition will bring into discussion the macroeconomic situation in the country, as well as the main trends and vulnerabilities of the national economy in the context of electoral cycles. Economic governance, budget transparency, and the effectiveness of the state's development programs will also be topics addressed at the conference.

MACRO is not a stand-alone event but also a platform for presenting the findings and recommendations of the State of the Country Report, an annual publication developed by the Independent Think-Tank „Expert-Grup” in partnership with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Moldova (FES). In addition to the traditional chapters that provide an analysis of the main trends and developments in the economic and social fields—business, people, governance—the 2024 edition of the report addresses the topic of enhancing resilience and economic potential in the Republic of Moldova by facilitating access to capital.

MACRO 2024 will take place on December 12, in Chișinău, from 09:00 to 16:00, at the Radisson Blu Leogrand Hotel, Răut Hall, located at Mitropolit Varlaam Street 77. The conference will be conducted in Romanian, with simultaneous translation into English.

The event will be attended by political leaders, policymakers, representatives of local governments and the private sector, local and foreign experts, representatives of CSOs and academia in Moldova.
