Increasing the level of information and awareness regarding the need for structural economic reforms in banking, energy and state-owned enterprises sectors

Period of implementation: June 2016 – May 2017

Project scope: The project aims at increasing the level of information and, thus, awareness of at least 222,500 of the population of Moldova regarding the need for structural economic reforms in the country’s three most vulnerable sectors: banking, energy and state-owned enterprises

Project objectives:

  • Set up the Economic Development Task Force (ECTF) composed of economic experts with proper interest and expertise in the mentioned sectors;
  • Produce periodic economic commentaries/position notes about the current situation, key issues or irregularities depicted and proposed policy interventions in the banking, energy and state-owned enterprises sectors;
  • Elaborate petitions, infographics and organize press conferences in order to promote the necessary reforms in the banking, energy and state-owned enterprises.

Expected results:

  • Higher level of information and awareness among the population about the situation and needed reforms in the banking, energy and state-owned enterprises sectors;
  • Higher accountability of the government and, thus, higher pace of reforms in the banking, energy and state-owned enterprises sectors.
