VIDEO | “The First Swallow” in Bălți. Residents of a high-rise block will be able to save 30% on their bills

Expert-Grup, with the support of the Government of Slovakia through SlovakAid, the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Energy Community Secretariat, the Ministry of Energy and the National Centre for Sustainable Energy, has launched a large-scale project - ✅Thermal insulation and colour redesign of the façade of the property with cadastral no. 0300302.012, located in Bălți municipality, 3/A Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt St. This is a 16-storey residential block (one of the tallest blocks in Bălți), which will benefit from an investment of MDL 10 million (20% contributed by residents and 80% by donors) in energy efficiency and in improving the aesthetic appearance of the façade. 📈As a result, as early as this winter the building's energy efficiency will increase by around 35%, and residents will be able to enjoy better thermal comfort, lower heating bills and, in general, a better standard of living. We estimate that the market price of the apartments in the block will also rise significantly. ✔️In parallel, we are piloting the first bank lending instrument for a homeowners' association, which will allow co-financing of 20% of the investment value. This is the pilot project (The First Swallow) for the launch of the Energy Efficiency Fund in the Residential Sector of the Republic of Moldova, managed by the National Centre for Sustainable Energy and likewise developed with the support of Expert-Grup. Starting in 2025, the Fund will finance energy efficiency investments across the whole country, based on the experience and lessons learned from this project.
